Welcome to my web page.
I became a ham radio operator in 1986, back when Morse code was required.
I started with the required 5wpm. I mostly worked VHF and UHF FM until around 1989 where I picked up my Technician and General class license with the required 13wpm code. I played with code a little more since then and even dabbled with SSTV and other digital modes. I still mostly did voice, but this time I was using HF frequencies mostly.
In 2006 I upgraded my license to Extra and skipped Advanced class license due to the FCC eliminating it. I stuck to my desire to advance my code and made myself learn Morse code to 20wpm even though it was no longer required. After that, I have been playing around with all sorts of digital modes, CW, SSB voice and even echolink.
